Candle Making With Intention
One of the retreat highlights is a candle-making workshop with intention, led by a fellow creative small business owner. In this hands-on session, you'll craft your own custom candle while infusing your creation with personal meaning and purpose. It's a practice in mindfulness, helping you set clear intentions for your business and life as you create something beautiful.
Oil Painting Sequencing
Unlock your creativity with our Oil Painting Sequencing Workshop, a practice designed to help you release expectations and trust the creative process. In this two hour workshop, Desha Peacock will guide you through an approach developed by the River Gallery School. Much like business and entrepreneurship, the process of creating often leads to unexpected, yet beautiful outcomes. By embracing uncertainty and trusting your instincts, you'll discover that what unfolds can be even better than what you originally imagined. This workshop is a powerful reminder that in both art and business, growth happens when we allow ourselves to take risks and enjoy the journey.
She DESIGNS Panel
Saturday’s She DESIGNS panel will feature three female small business owners who’ve navigated the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. This engaging session will feature candid conversations on the theme of resilience- a quality every female small business owner possesses and continually refines. Challenges are inevitable on the entrepreneurial journey, but what sets us apart is our ability to rise, adapt, and keep moving forward. Following the panel, there will be an open Q&A and break out rooms for the women in the room get to know one another in a deeper way. Enjoy sips and snacks while you learn, connect, and get inspired by the stories and experiences of fellow women in business.

Retreat House
We are incredibly excited to partner with Jilan Glorfield, owner of Long Story Short. Jilan created this space with the same intention and values that we hold dear, here at She DESIGNS. Born from a couple of generations of crafting sublime and soulful gathering spaces and a deep passion for the eclectic and elegant, Jilan has created a private home that feels like a boutique hotel.

Friday Oct 18. Day 1: Arrive Hudson + Candle Making + intimate dinner
2:00-3:00 Arrive to our beautiful retreat house, Long Story Short, in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
4:00-6:00 Start the weekend by creating your candle and setting your intention.
7:30 Enjoy an intimate, casual dinner at the retreat house.
9:30 Time to settle in for the night, but first we have a goody for you + prompted writing and some sleepy time tea
Saturday Oct 19: Day 2: Sequence painting + explore hudson + she designs panel
8:30-9:30 Enjoy breakfast at the retreat house.
10:00-12:00 Open up your creative channels with Sequencing Oil Painting. You are going to LOVE this.
12:00-3:30 Free time to explore Hudson. The retreat house is walking distance to loads of boutique shops, cafes, art galleries and design centric stores.
4:00-7:00 It’s time to welcome the speakers + guests for the She DESIGNS Panel!
7:30 and on… Free time. Pick your own adventure. Venture out or cozy up.
Sunday Oct 20: Day 3: nature hike + optional massage + farewell
8:30-9:30 Enjoy breakfast at the retreat house.
10:00-11:00 Fall is a gorgeous time to be outside in New England. Let’s get grounded with a nature walk.
12:00: Optional add-on massage + departure.

The Rooms
The retreat pricing is based on your room of choice. Our intention with the first She DESIGNS retreat is to make it as accessible as possible, so we have a few sleeping options.
There are three levels to the house.
The TOP FLOOR has one big room, we call this the slumber party room! There are three beds in this large shared space with one very pretty bathroom.

The MIDDLE FLOOR has two private queen rooms with a shared bathroom in between.

The BOTTOM FLOOR has an adorable sleeping nook in between the living and dining room. It’s curtained off for privacy. Bath will be shared with the middle level.

What is She Designs?
She DESIGNS is a podcast and emerging brand created by Christine Martin and Desha Peacock. Christine is a holistic interior designer based in Baja, California. Desha is a lifeSTYLE & small biz coach based in Vermont. We believe it’s possible to design a lifeSTYLE and successful business, working from anywhere, that aligns with your values and higher purpose. On the podcast, we highlight women in business who exhibit integrity, are ethically minded, and focus on “life first” businesses. The Hudson Mini Retreat is our first live event, a celebration of season one. We can’t wait to meet you in person!!!
