cancellation policy

All individual cancellations must be made in writing and are effective upon receipt. Cancellation penalties for individuals are:

At any time after you have made your deposit, a $500.00 transaction applies. The retreat is non-refundable inside of 90 days as payments for the group travel have been made to our suppliers. If you cancel the trip 90 days BEFORE the retreat begins you may receive a full refund less your $500.00 deposit.

Thrive Creative Retreat reserves the right to cancel any workshop/trip at any time for any reason, including if there are too few participants, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of travellers is judged by Thrive Creative Retreat in our sole discretion to be compromised. In such cases, a refund of payment shall constitute full and final settlement. Thrive Creative Retreat is not responsible for any loss incurred on account of non-refundable or non-transferable air OR travel tickets tickets.  Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Travel Insurance

Accidents can and do happen — whether it’s a missed flight en route or sudden illness while in a foreign country. The only way to protect yourself from unexpected expenses that arise from emergency situations is by making sure you’re covered, preferably before your plane touches down in your destination.

Thrive Creative Retreat recommends World Nomads travel insurance. Travelers can do things like request quotes, purchase coverage and files claims online. In the unlikely event where you require emergency assistance or evacuation, World Nomads’ teams are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Trip cancellation insurance may be the only means of receiving reimbursement for flights and other non-refundable expenses should an Thrive Creative Retreat trip be cancelled for any reason, whether voluntarily by you or as a result of Thrive Creative’s Retreats actions.

You are responsible for understanding the specifics of your travel insurance policy, ensuring that your policy covers all optional and included activities listed in the trip itinerary, and ensuring that there are no exclusion clauses (e.g., air delays due to mechanical issues) that would limit the coverage that you might reasonably need.

If you have current health insurance coverage, check your insurance policy to see if it provides the coverage described above while traveling outside your country. It is your responsibility to verify your insurance policy details with your insurance provider.

The fine print

The terms “Thrive Creative Retreat” “we” and “our” refer to Thrive Creative Retreat, owned by Desha Peacock and Molly Hatch, which designed and operates trips listed herein. All trips are offered subject to Thrive Creative Retreat’s standard terms and conditions. Please review the terms and conditions carefully prior to completing your reservation. Some of these terms and conditions are set out below to draw your attention to the fact that our obligations to you are limited. 

Once the trip begins, we will do everything possible to ensure your enjoyment, and we rely on you to tell us if something is not working. We look forward to a successful partnership together, and we hope that you sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Traveler Responsibility

Travelers are responsible for being in sufficiently good health to undertake their trip; for obtaining the appropriate medical and cancellation insurance; for studying all pre-departure information; and for acting in a manner considerate of fellow travelers and the countries visited. Travelers assume full responsibility for all risks, including but not limited to any loss, injury, death or damage to them, their family or their dependants arising in connection with their participation, or the participation of their family, in the trips, and for ensuring that they have adequate insurance coverage to cover any loss.

Travel Risk

Any form of travel contains inherent risks and medical facilities and services may not be easily accessible and may not be sophisticated. There are other risks associated with the trips, such as theft or loss of or damage to property. Some of the services provided in connection with the trip, including lodging, transportation, food service, and local tours and activities, are obtained from independent suppliers over whom Thrive Creative Retreat has no control.

Although Thrive Creative Retreat endeavours to choose appropriate independent suppliers to provide services on the trips, we have no right to control their operations and therefore make travel arrangements for will not be liable for any act or omission of any independent supplier or any unrelated third party. The services provided by independent suppliers are subject to the laws of the place where the services are provided, and any conditions imposed by those suppliers. The liability of the independent suppliers may be limited by their tariffs, conditions of carriage, tickets and vouchers, and international conventions and agreements.

Travelers further agree that they will indemnify and hold Thrive Creative Retreat harmless in respect of any claims arising in connection with the trip made by: i) third parties, which arise from the misconduct of the travelers; ii) the traveler’s family members, dependants or heirs, iii) third parties, which the traveler, their estate, their family members, dependants or heirs have sued, if damages are recovered from such third parties, to the extent the third party obtains any indemnification from Thrive Creative Retreat; except where the loss, injury, death or damage is caused by the reckless or fraudulent conduct on the part of Thrive Creative Retreat, or their employees or guides.

Thrive Creative Retreat reserves the right to decline accepting or retaining any traveler whose health or actions in Thrive Creative Retreat’s sole judgment impede the operation of a trip or the welfare or enjoyment of fellow travelers.
