You have big dreams and lots of ideas

You have so many strengths, but those same strengths are also your biggest challenges!

You are a creative visionary with LOTS of ideas and this is a beautiful gift, but sometimes it feels like your muse drank a red bull :)

That leaves you feeling overwhelmed, scattered and like you can’t move forward as fast as you’d like.

In this state of overload, it’s hard to pick a next move (literally any move!), but with the right mindset, you can make your heart-centered biz as meaningful as you imagine. Here’s what it has the potential to look like…

Wanna learn more about how to overcome creative overwhelm?

This is who you have the potential to be + 3 steps to help you get there.

Who you aspire to be:

You are amazed at how much you’ve accomplished in so little time. You are focused on the things that matter most, knowing you can do it all—just not all at once.

And lo and behold, you are making more and keeping more dinero!

What’s changed?

You understood before that what you focus on grows, but now you actually practice it.

Don’t worry, you aren’t locked into a rigid schedule. You still have time to feel those creative surges, but instead of acting on them in the moment, you’ve cultivated the art of delayed gratification.

3 Steps to Move Beyond Overwhelm

Step 1: Set your top 1-3 priorities.

Step 2: Use the Yearly Planning Map to break down tasks.

Step 3: Get support.

Let’s break it down into the practical…

Step 1: Set your top 1-3 priorities

Part of the reason you feel overwhelmed is that you have a lot on your plate. You feel by adding more you will earn more, but this isn’t always the case.

You need to become a MASTER at being able to prioritize what will bring in the big bucks and then practice the art of FOCUSING on those priorities.

Oh my goodness, it sounds so easy, but you and I both know how easy it is to get distracted.

Why is it that we have a goal, but then deviate? There’s a few reasons.

➡ One, you might get bored working on one thing.

➡ Two, you might feel that if you don’t act on your new idea (not the one you’re supposed to be working on but a new one that just popped up!), that you won’t ever do it or the opportunity will pass you by.

So here’s what I’d like you to do. I want you to get serious.

I want you to pick these 1-3 top priorities and really focus on them until they are complete.

In the meantime, don’t take on any new projects.

You can add them, but add them later in the year.

We good?

Step 2: Use the Yearly Planning Map to break down tasks

Ok sista, now that you have your top 1-3 priorities set, let’s map these babies out.

You are going to spread these tasks out in chunks over the year. Instead of feeling panicked about getting it all done now (which stretches your focus across too many things, leaving you frazzled), now you can relax knowing there is time for everything

With every single goal, your actions need to be specific. So if your goal is to double your income this year, you need to chart out what your streams of income are and then list the action steps for each stream.

For example, “I want to double my income.” Action Step One: I will double my client load. To get there: I need to book 50% more clarity calls. To get there: I need to double my email list. To get there: I need to gain 166 new email leads each month. To get there: I need to create my next fabulous freebie and collaborate with influencers to get in front of my target audience.

Every action step needs a place in your calendar. It’s easy to put overwhelming tasks at the bottom of your list, especially when there are lots of action steps to take to achieve the goal.

Be aggressive with this, but also have grace for yourself if the date needs adjusting. Even your wildest goals can come to fruition if you take the time to put the action steps in the calendar.

Use the Yearly Planning Map to go deeper.

Step 3: Get support

I’m throwing a lot at you here, but hold on cause there’s more!

Actually, I think you’re going to like this step.

Trying to corral your busy mind on your own is tough. I mean if you’re reading this, I assume you’ve tried and still need help.

I know because I’ve been there myself. Actually I’m still there!

Want to know my secret to getting the right stuff done?

I have help.

Lots of help.

My two favorite kinds of support are working with an accountability buddy and/ or a coach. Both are great and have their pros and cons.

An accountability buddy is someone who is at your level of business and who also needs help focusing on a task. For example, I currently have an accountability buddy that I meet with every Friday.

She actually recorded a voice memo with tips on working with an accountability buddy. Take a listen!

The pro to having a great accountability buddy is that you have weekly support to get each other on task. The con is that the container can fall apart if you aren’t equally as dedicated. Also, you need to be prepared; this is a two way street. You are helping each other and need to devote equal time to support each other’s tasks.

Now let's talk about coaching

Alert: I am a coach, so you can bet I’m going to encourage you to work with one! Even though I’m a coach, I also work with coaches because I need support. The difference between working with an accountability buddy and working with a coach is that the coach is the expert or guide in the relationship.

You don’t need to worry about giving her equal time in this convo because girl it’s all about YOU

Besides being an expert in the area you seek to improve, she  should also be someone who you trust. Someone with great testimonials. Someone who has similar values to you. Someone who you vibe with.

The last kind of support is a team, but don’t use your team as your accountability buddy or your coach. You should be leading your team and not expecting them to hold you accountable!

To sum up, having lots of ideas is a blessing, just watch out for distractions. Decide to become a master at discerning what deserves your focus. Follow the action steps below designed to help you on your way.

Inspired Action Steps:

Resources

  1. LifeSTYLE Intention Guide: This guide will help you create your lifeSTYLE Intention based on your personal values and deepest goals.

  2. Yearly Planning Map: The best way to manifest your intention is to write it down. That makes it real and it’s more likely that you will take action. Use this tool to help you focus on what you want and then fill in the quarterly goal section and get tasks in your calendar!

  3. I love it when the universe aligns. If one of your priorities is building your email audience, check out my upcoming List From Scratch Course, which will help grow your list through attraction- style marketing. I know you’ll love it.

  4. Take the Myers Briggs, a personality assessment tool to help you understand your inherent strengths and challenges so that you can use that awareness to your benefit.

  5. Overcoming Underearning by Barbara Stanny. I read lots of money books prior to this one, but for some reason this book really got the message through and changed my life! Stanny teaches five essential steps to financial independence and brings a message of empowerment to all those who chronically undervalue themselves.

  6. We Should All Be Millionaires by Racheal Rodgers. I love this book and have read it twice. It details a realistic, achievable, step-by-step path to creating the support, confidence, and plan you need to become the millionaire the world needs you to be.

  7. Chillpreneur: The New Rules for Creating Success, Freedom, and Abundance on Your Terms. by Denise Duffield Thomas. I love this lady. Not only does she have great advice, but she cracks me up. Full of reassuring and practical advice, this book challenges the old, boring assumptions of what it takes to create success in business, so you can create financial independence with ease and grace.

  8. When you’re in creative overwhelm, you can really benefit from working with a coach or mentor to help you stay focused on your top priorities. A good guide will listen to you and help you use your time efficiently. If you seek an intuitive guide who blends magic with strategy, book a call with me. Let’s get your priorities straight.
